field trip // aquarium

Today my family took a day trip down to Boston to visit the New England Aquarium. We had gone there seven years ago when we only had six kids. *smile*

September pinterest projects

Here are my Pinterest projects this month!

Now, I do not have a specific pin for this project, but I have seen it kicking around for a while. Basically, I put scrapbook paper in a frame and voila! Brand-new, pretty whiteboard. This frame I got for free {it was destined for goodwill} and the paper I got for about 10 cents.

Again, I do not have a specific pin for these couple of notebooks.
I covered them with brown paper and decorated that with magazine cutouts and washi tape.

I do have a pin for this project. :)

psalms

Psalm 19:4
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 20:7-9

Some trust in horses, and some in chariots, but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

Psalm 22:5
They trusted in You and were delivered;
They trusted in You and were not ashamed.

Psalm 24:8
Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
The LORD, mighty in battle.

leisure

Leisure

William H. Davies

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

what autumn has brought me

Autumn winds chill my toes through the open window. I look out my window and see a few red leaves. Not many, but enough. I bite into a fresh, juicy apple. My mind is filled with visions of fall outfits, crafting ideas, and school projects. Sunshine comes through the treetops to dance upon my notebook. I sigh, content.
I am happy with what autumn has brought me.

summer pinterest projects

One of my 55 in 2012 goals was to make at least one thing from Pinterest every month. I realized that I had not posted my projects from this summer.

For my May project, I do not have a specific pin for it, but I had seen this type of headband floating around on Pinterest and Etsy at the beginning of the summer. This thing saved my life some days at camp. *smile*

June project:

I basically used this pattern:

knit pouches

I am planning on giving this away as a sunglasses case.

In July, I knit this super simple headband (cast on 5 stitches, work in stockinette stitch for as long as you want). It turned out to be another headband that I wore a lot throughout the summer.

I took the idea from this pin:

I still want to make a fabric one.

In August, I did my hair like this twice:

I like it because I can put my hair up in a bun and still have it look nice.

Need to braid a little tighter, but this is oh so cute!

Depending on what I make from Pinterest this fall, I may or may not post them until after Christmas since most of them will probably be gifts.

What have you been making lately?
