Delight 365 // Days 81-88

March has just not been the best month so far as my 365 project. I've had busy days and not much color outside, but hopefully the approaching spring will give me more things to photograph.

I think the last time I saw green grass was last October...but anyway, on to the photos that I do have.

Day 81

Last weekend, I attended a teen retreat in Canada, and this is a picture from a photo challenge that we did. In the Northeast, we figure we might as well have snow camp if it's going to stick around in March.

"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer."

Albert Camus

Day 83

"I smile because you smile."

Frank Churchill in Emma.

Day 84

"God never gives guidance for two steps at a time. I must take one step, and then I get light for the next. This keeps the heart in abiding dependence upon God."

C.H. Mackintosh

Day 86

"Oh! yes, I must be there; I could not refuse; and I will keep as much awake as I can; but I would rather be at home."

Mr. Knightley in Emma.

Day 87

"Sometimes I have to remind myself that I don't have to do what everyone else is doing."

Day 88

“People will say it's sad that she leaves a lesser scar, that fewer remember her, that she was loved deeply but not widely. But it's not sad, Van Houten. It's triumphant. It's heroic. Isn't that the real heroism? Like the doctors say: First, do no harm.”

Augustus Waters in The Fault in Our Stars

Delight 365 // Days 74-80

Day 74

Piglet: "How do you spell love?"
Pooh: "You don't spell it, you feel it."

Day 76

"Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right."
Abraham Lincoln

Day 77

"If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31

Day 79

"Don't save things for a special occasion. Every day of your life is a special occasion."
Thomas Monson

Day 80

“The words were on their way, and when they arrived, she would hold them in her hands like the clouds, and she would wring them out like the rain.”

The Book Thief

A Few of My Favorite Things One // Vlog

This will (hopefully) become a fairly regular thing. Here are a few of my favorite things from this week, vlog version.

Here is the link for Ellie Be's blog where I first got this idea.

Clarification: I have lots of yarn. I just didn't have any good sock yarn. I have promised myself that I will never run out of yarn. Ever. So far, I've been able to keep that promise. *smile*

What have you been loving lately?

Those days

Sometimes, I have those days when I am just done. I want to take a nap and do nothing else with my life. Everything feels like it's against me and nothing seems to go right, even though no one hates me, my classes are the same as always, and nothing is actually wrong. I'm just ready for a change, I guess. I know that this will pass, but on these days I just want to eat some chocolate and watch some BBC series.

Delight 365 // days 63-72

I am participating in the Delight 365 challenge. The goal is to take a photo every day for a whole year, and some days have a word/theme. I've missed a few days, but oh, well. Life gets busy sometimes.

Day 63

"Fancies are like shadows...you can't cage them, they're such wayward, dancing things. But perhaps I'll learn the secret some day if I keep trying."

Anne of Avonlea

Day 64

"Sow for yourselves righteousness;
Reap in mercy;
Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the LORD,
Till He comes and rains righteousness on you."

Hosea 10:12

Day 65

“Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.”

H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Day 66

Word: daring

"Every day I discover more and more beautiful things. It's enough to drive one mad. I have a such a desire to do everything, my head is bursting with it."

Claude Monet

Day 67

"A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference."

A.A. Milne

Day 68

"The most creative people have this childlike facility to play."

John Cleese

Sometimes, we play red light, green light in our living room.

Day 69

"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see."

John Burroughs

Day 70

"We can't help everyone but everyone can help someone."

Ronald Reagan

Day 72

Word: tiny

"Let us spend our lives chasing the tiny moments of grace that hide in borrowed breaths, stolen glances, and the last instant before smiling lips come to rest."

Tyler Knott Gregson

My world

Under, wrap, pull back, slide.
Under, wrap, pull back, slide.
Under, wrap, pull back, slide.

I settle into the soothing rhythm, enjoying the feeling of soft yarn beneath my fingers and the smooth needles slipping through my hands, clicking softly. I enter a different world, one where I can control what happens; one where I am allowed to get wrapped up in what I am doing, oblivious to the world; one full of color and texture and fiber and stitch patterns.

This is my world, the one that I love.

Delight 365 // days 55-59

Day 55

"There is a candle in every soul.
Some brightly burning, some dark and cold.
There is a Spirit Who brings a fire
Ignites a candle and makes His hime.

So carry your candle, run to the darkness.
Seek out the hopeless, confused and torn.
Hold out your candle for all to see it.
Take your candle and go light your world."

Go Light Your World by Chris Rice

This is a wonderfully scented candle from the sweet

Day 56

"But I don't want to go among mad people," said Alice.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the cat. "We're all mad here."
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Day 57

“Sometimes,' said Pooh, 'the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
A.A. Milne

Day 58

"Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise."
The Epilogue from Les Miserables

Day 59

"Music to me is like breathing. I don't get tired of breathing. I don't get tired of music."
Ray Charles
