Journey to my homeland

This past week, my family and I visited my dad's side of the family in Canada where I was born. This post would be too long if I tried to describe our journey in full sentences, so I will content myself with lists.

Sunday was...

a six hour car ride
playing leapfrog on the side of the road
pretzel rods
discovering that my grandmother has a puppy obsession

Monday was...

campfire
ferry rides
giving a tour to my aunt's guests
reading

Tuesday was...

my cousin Tia spending the night with us
watching movies and knitting in the closet
Lydia, Tia and I eating a whole bag of chips and salsa while watching Persuasion (in the living room)
going barefoot

Wednesday was...

poutine
riding in my aunt's convertible
Anne of Green Gables musical songs
hiking
taking a tour of my ancestor's land
visiting a graveyard at 11:00 p.m.
more chips and salsa
marriage proposal videos
more movies in the closet
Christmas in July gifts
Dutch Blitz
finding answers to an old family mystery
ice cream in an old train station

All in all, it was a good trip full of reminiscing, food, golden sunlight, and laughter.
