weekly wrap-up #11

i hope that you are all having a good mother's day!

reading // washington's lady {finished} // while we're far apart {finished} // i was jane austen's best friend //

listening to // celtic women // the gaither vocal band

crafting // a large granny square // a clay vase in art class // a needlepoint square // this headband //

enjoying // sunshine after rain // photoshoot with my typically camera-shy brother {photos coming tomorrow!} // wearing headbands // finding out how to make a granny square // watching the spring musical at my school // baking bread // newly painted nails //

this past week we have gotten rain almost every day. we need it, though. yesterday and today we had gorgeous sunny weather, though, which we all enjoyed.

earlier this week i figured out how to make a granny square. it is great for using up little bits of yarn! and it's really simple once you get the hang of it. that's saying a lot since my crochet skills are pretty much nonexistant. i have to reteach myself how to crochet every time i pull it out.

last night the lighting was stunning. i so enjoyed wandering around my yard snapping photographs left and right.

jessica over at diary of a beautiful soul is hosting a almost 300 followers giveaway here. she's only 5 followers away!
and speaking of followers...lily over at lily caroline photography will host a giveaway if she can get up to 100 followers in the next two weeks. you should all follow her if you don't already. :)

what are some of the highlights of your week?

  3. Lovely, Miss Emily!!! I have been wanting to learn how to crochet granny squares for the LOOOOOOOONGEST time just never have found a good tutorial/pattern. *sigh* Ah, well, I suppose I shall stick to my graceful shell shawl for now. ;)

    Love your blog.
