A Peek into my Quote Book

The weariest nights, the longest days, must perforce come to an end.
-The Scarlet Pimpernel-

"All young people would have their little whims."
-Mrs. Weston, Emma-

Mr. Knightley seemed to be trying not to smile [at Emma's speech]; and succeeded without difficulty, upon Mrs. Elton's beginning to talk to him.
-Emma-

It darted through her with the speed of an arrow that Mr. Knightley must marry no one but herself.
-Emma-

"I am one who finds happiness in simple things."
-Lord Percy, The Inheritance by L.M. Alcott-

"No good action ever goes unrewarded."
-Miss Bates, Jane Fairfax-

She [Jane F.] had become used to her solitude, had often consciously enjoyed it, had never been aware of loneliness, she could pass hours in perfect content playing her music, or sitting on the bank of a brook watching the minnows, or at her needlework, absorbed in the memory of some book that she...had been reading.
-Jane Fairfax-

"He inquired after you very particularly; asked even if you were personally altered, little suspecting that to my eye you could never alter."
-Captain Wentworth, Persuasion-

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

  3. Hi! Just wanted to say thanks for your comments on my blog. I really appreciate it!

These are some great quotes you have here. I have a quote book too, where I write down some of my favorites. I've never read "Jane Fairfax", but after reading these quotes I'm interested to find out more about it.

    Blessings,

    1. Hi, Tarissa!

I never actually finished the Jane Fairfax book, but I would like to. What I was able to read before I had to return the book was good.

      Blessings,
      Emily.
