Today I am linking up to Miss Grace's Jane Austen blog event. If you haven't already, I would encourage you all to participate in this event.
{one} let us start by your telling a little bit about your own self. tell us a bit of your personality. perhaps, tell a bit of your interests and pastime.
Well, I am a 16 year old young woman who desires to live for God. As for my personality, I am often outgoing, but I need to spend time by myself sometimes. I tend to talk too much most of the time. I love my family and friends and enjoy spending time with them. My favorite hobbies are knitting, singing, crafting, reading, photography, and blogging. If I could, I would do those things all day long. I cannot, unfortunately. However, I do them as often as possible. I love all things Jane Austen, pretty much anything old-fashioned, and getting inspired by other bloggers and by Pinterest. If I have a song stuck inside my head, I either sing it {usually rather loudly ;) }, dance to it {with or without singing}, or keep the rhythm by snapping my fingers. And since I almost always have a song stuck inside my head, well...
{two} what literary character {whether it be in a film or book} would you say, most describes your personality and mannerisms?
Hmm...probably a combination of Anne Elliot and Emma Woodhouse. I know that those are two opposite characters, but let me explain. I talk a lot, but I also keep a lot inside, like Anne. However, I can be outgoing and insensitive like Emma can be. So, I am a combination of the two.
{three} what would you describe as the most lovely place to live in 1700's England? a cottage surrounded by woods or a mansion perhaps, to the same resemblance as Pemberley in Miss Austen's Pride and Prejudice.
Hmm...perhaps Emma's residence at Hartfield with a little cottage by the ocean as a summer home. I would enjoy spending time in a mansion, but I do not think that I could live in one.
{four} list some of your favorite and least favorite literary works you have read.
Jane Austen novels among my favorites, of course. I also like the Anne of Green Gables series. Another favorite of mine is Jane Eyre. One of my least favorites is Wuthering Heights. I just didn't enjoy reading it.
{five} what would you describe as a most admirable heroine?
A lady who cares for others more than she cares for herself. She is willing to stand up for what is right but she is willing to submit to authority. She is kind, compassionate, and confident. She enjoys improving her mind by reading. She is good-natured, thoughtful, and considerate.
{six} if you could spend afternoon tea in the company of your favorite literary heroine, to whom would you spend it with?
Hmm...I would choose to spend the afternoon with Anne Elliot as I think we would get along and have a good conversation.
{seven} which is to your liking more :: tea or coffee?
I must admit that I do not drink either one very often. I prefer iced tea and coffee, but iced tea is my favorite.
{eight} which of Jane Austen's couples are your more fond of?
Mr. Knightley and Emma are my favorite couple. Captain Wentworth and Anne Elliot are a very close second. {can you tell that these are my two favorite stories? :) }
{nine} what is one {a few} of your favorite literary quotes?
"Whom are you going to dance with?" asked Mr, Knightley.
She [Emma] hesitated a moment, and then replied, "With you, if you will ask me."
"Will you?" said he, offering his hand.
"Indeed I will. You have shown that you can dance, and you know we are not really so much brother and sister as to make it at all improper."
"Brother and sister! no, indeed."
-Emma-
The weariest nights, the longest days, must perforce come to an end.
-The Scarlet Pimpernel-
"If only you knew how many things I wanted to say but didn't."
-Anne, Anne of Green Gables-
{ten} are you fond of dancing or singing or reading a good book?
Well, I have never danced. I would enjoy it if I had the chance, though! I love to sing and to read.
{eleven} and lastly, as this event is also hosted in celebration of my garden's second anniversary, would you mind explaining perhaps, how you stumbled upon my little plot of earth? wink.
Your lovely blog, Miss Grace, was actually the second blog that I ever followed. I discovered it when you hosted the Feelin' Feminine week in feminine dress event a while ago, and I have enjoyed it ever since. :)
