I've Been Awarded The...

Stylish blogger award!

I was very excited when I got tagged because this is my first tag. :)

Now I have to tell you 7 random facts about me:

1. I used to be homeschooled, but now I go to the public high school.
2. I am a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada.
3. I have been knitting since I was about 10.
4. My favorite Christmas movie is "It's a Wonderful Life" {which I am really excited to watch since it is now past Thanksgiving and officially the Christmas season}.
5. I randomly sing pretty much all the time and I have a song for almost any occasion.
6. I love funky socks {hey, if I have to wear socks and shoes instead of sandals, they might as well be cool socks}.
7. Sometimes I wear socks with flip-flops and one time I wore Christmas toe socks with flip-flops in the middle of July. Oh, yes. :)

Here are the five lovely bloggers that I am tagging:

1. Lizzie - you can check out her three blogs here, here, and here.

2. Gabby who is currently renaming her blog and the new name has not yet been revealed. Her blog used to be called An Ambitious Homemaker.

Thanks, Lily, for tagging me!

Edit: I was tagged again! This time by Hayden from Story Girl. Thanks so much!

p.s. there is a lovely giveaway going on here at An Old-Fashioned Girl.

I was not able to see the list of blogs because I had already voted (and I didn't even notice that my blog was on there!). A Little bit of Fall-ness

Today, to continue with the Scripture Memorization Challenge, I memorized:

1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

There is a modest fashion event and giveaway going on here at Creativity Starts Here. I am linking up this outfit:

Shirt: Hand-me-down
Skirt: Made my my sister and I
Purple tank top: Christmas Tree Shops
Earrings: Made by me

Day One includes a giveaway, so I think you all should link up if you can. :)

I am entering the following photo in Kelsey's photo challenge. The theme is Fall. {oh, and there will be a prize for the winner. :)}

I am also entering it in Lily's photo challenge where the theme is Fall.

Happy November 2nd!

Sorry again!

Like I said in my last post, I am sorry for my lack of posts over the past few days. I am also sorry that this is a rather hodge-podge post (I seem to have quite a few of those!). I am working on a real post. :)
On Sunday after church some of my siblings and I went on a spontaneous hiking trip with a couple other families from my church.

This tower was on top of the mountain.

This was the gorgeous view from the top of the tower.

This is the view looking down from the tower. :)

Yesterday I spent almost all afternoon cooking. My homework for one of my classes at school was to cook dinner for your family.

Now, on to the 31-Day Challenge.

Day 23 - A Photo of a Person playing a board game

Day 24 - A Photo Playing with Shadows

Day 25 - A Photo You Took a Year Ago

This photo was taken with my little old Kodak Easyshare Point and Shoot. I loved that camera...until the zoom broke. Then one of my best friends dropped it in the stream we were taking photos by. So, I got a new camera. :) It's not an DSLR, but it's better than my old one. :)

Go on over and check out Lily's Days 23 and 24. While you're there, enter her lovely giveaway! Here are some of my favorite prizes:

Flower Bobby Pins

Chocolate Raspberry Soap

A gorgeous autumn colored ring

I posted about a giveaway here. Well, I won it. :) I won this set of bobby pins:

Mum Bobby Pin Hair Set - in White, Purple, and Light Blue
{via}

You can visit Silver Lotus Designs here.

And, since we're speaking about giveaways, I thought I would mention another:

Johanna is hosting a giveaway here. The prize is a $15 gift certificate to this lovely Etsy shop.

I also love this post over at Jamie Delaine Blog.

Happy Autumn!

p.s. did you realize that it is now only two months until Christmas????

Some new prizes have been added to Lily's giveaway over at Belle Fleur Photography, so be sure and check that giveaway out, as well!

Now, on to the 31-Day Challenge. I didn't have time to post a photo yesterday, so here are days 16 and 17:

Day 16 - A Photo of Your Parents

These are my favorite parents in the whole world. :) True, they are my only parents, but if I could pick my parents I would choose them.

Day 17 - A Photo Involving Street Lights

Since I live in a little town, we don't have any street lights that I can take a photo of. So, I figured these lights would count.

These are lights above the screen at the drive-ins.

And now, just to leave you with some cuteness:

(I am entering this photo in two photo challenges)

Theme: Something Sweet (hey, babies are pretty sweet!)

Theme: Something you love.

Hope you have a good day!

So, I am going to Connecticut this weekend. We have no school on Friday and we have Monday off because it is Columbus Day, so we are leaving on Friday and coming back Monday. I will try and prepare some scheduled posts, but no guarantees. :)

So, continuing on with the 31-Day Challenge...

Day 4

Hello, all!

This is Day 4 of the 31-Day challenge. In case you missed the beginning, you can go see Day 1 to learn more about the challenge and Days 2 and 3 just because.

Day 3 - A photo of your favorite place to be.

I love to be in the kitchen/dining room. I like to bake in the kitchen and spend time with my family over meals in the dining room. This was the closest I could get to both rooms at once.

You can go visit Lily's Day 4 post if you would like. Leave a comment just because her photography is amazing. :)

Besides school, I didn't really do much today. Right now I am sitting here waiting to leave for youth group wearing a pink polka dot skirt with black sparkly leggings. Along with some earrings that I made the other day.

Oh, shoot. I just realized that I forgot to take pictures of the earrings I made to show you all what I did yesterday. Oh, well. It was raining today so the lighting wasn't good anyway. :) Hopefully tomorrow!

Anyway...

What did you do today?

Was you day super fantabulous? boring? average? fun? happy? sad? depressing?
(I ran out of good adjectives, but you can go ahead and comment with your own words)

I made a couple pairs of earrings yesterday afternoon. I have not had a chance to take any photos yet, but you will all know as soon as I do. :)

Psalm 37:7-8

Psalm 37:7-8

Entering this photo in Lily's photo contest.

"Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;

Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way

Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;

Do not fret - it only causes harm."

These are good verses for me to remember because I have a tendency to worry and to be jealous of people who continually do wrong things and still gain by it. But I need to remember that they will be punished and those who persevere in the LORD will be rewarded.

Have any verses been on your mind lately?

What has God been teaching you recently?
