favorite photos from this week:

chloe sweeping rocks from the grass back onto the driveway.

oh, my. natalia is just too adorable for her own good.

i know it's out of focus, but that look is priceless.

i was lacking inspiration for what to photograph. i sat looking around my room and decided on knitting needles. then i just stuck them in the shutter and played around with the focus.

what were some of the highlights from your week?

isaiah

isaiah 41:13

"for I, the LORD your God will hold your right hand,

saying to you, 'fear not, I will help you.' "

isaiah 9:2

the people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;

those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,

upon them a light has shined.

isaiah 26:16

LORD, in trouble they have visited You,

they poured out a prayer when Your chastening was upon them.

spring has visited

sunlight dances on rippling waves.

it's rays dart through rusting pine needles.

patches of snow lay scattered throughout the yard.

birds fly from tree to tree, singing as they go.

ice reflects dazzling sunlight.

tree branches devoid of leaves sway in the gentle breeze.

shadows play along the snow covered rocks.

spring has visited us, at least for now.

p.s. yes, i am getting christmas light bokeh in march. it makes me happy. know what else makes me happy?  flip-flop bokeh. yeah. it's pretty great.

sunflare and boots

i wore this outfit a few weeks ago, but i thought i would share it with you all.

{aren't tripods fun?}

gray sweater: hand-me-down
teal shirt: old navy
purple skirt: burlington coat factory
gray boots: hand-me-down

yes, i did wear high heeled boots in maine's weird snow/mud season...wouldn't you? :P

for my hair, i just braided the two front sections a little bit and bobby pinned them back. {did you know that you're supposed to use bobby pins with the bumpy side down?}

and now, i couldn't not include some of the sun flare that i captured:

do you ever wear high heeled boots in the winter?

some projects lately

today i thought i would share some of my recent projects!

after seeing this pin, i made this rotating goals list:

 thanks so much for all of the great ideas that you lovely ladies gave me on this post! here are a few projects that i have made with my scrap yarn:

inspired by this pin, i made this bottle.

i freelanced/followed this pattern to make these little flowers and make them into hair accessories for my little sisters.

 then, a friend sent me the link to this crochet bow tutorial. i made one while watching a movie with my brothers. i thought that it would be the perfect size for a bow tie. then, come sunday morning, my brother luke came up to me and asked where his bow tie was.

he wore it to church that morning.

i made another one that i am working on turning into a headband.

although i have not photographed them, i made a few of these sweet little hearts:

allow me to tell you a story

allow me to tell you the story of my missing camera.

we went to new brunswick after Christmas to visit my dad's side of the family. on the way home, we stopped by the home of a couple that meant a lot to my parents in their early married life. i brought my camera in and did not end up using it because i took care of my baby sister. i had set down my camera where i sat when we first went inside, but i never went back to that spot. still holding my little sister, i walked out the door and into the van without my camera. the lady we had been visiting found it a few minutes after we left and tried to call my mom's cell phone, but we were in Canada so my mom's phone was turned off. we got all the way home {about a five hour trip} before i realized that my camera was missing. we figured out where we had left it and got in touch with the couple. i did not want them to have to spend money to send it in the mail, nor did i want my camera to actually go through the mail. so, my grandparents drove down to pick it up, and i was finally able to get it back when we back up to Canada this past weekend for a teen retreat. i had been using my sister's camera, but i had really missed mine. i am soooo glad that i finally have it back!

so, i just felt like sharing that with you all so that you would not think it strange that i am sharing a few Christmas photos in february. *smiles*.
