thrifting finds

i went shopping at goodwill a few days ago and ended up with some lovely items! i typically only have time to look through the clothes, but on this day i decided to browse through the other sections. i'm so glad that i did! here are some of my finds:

this cute little tin box. i don't quite know why i like it, but i do.

this sewing pattern has some cute and easily-adapted shirts. i like the styles.

i thought that this embroidery hoop would make a good earring holder or something else that i might find on pinterest. *smiles*.

i think this magazine is my favorite find of the day. i was hunting through the magazine crate, thinking that i might find something good. well, i got the spring 2008 interweave knits magazine. it's the perfect season and it has some really pretty sweaters in it!

iced tea and houndstooth

i don't know about you, but here the weather has been gorgeous. yesterday and today we left science class at school to go for a little walk. i spent yesterday afternoon doing homework and reading sitting in a rocking chair on our porch. today i sat on a large rock, drank iced tea, and read emma {side note: i'm almost done. today i read the proposal scene. oh.my.goodness. i love mr. knightley!!!!!!!!!!! sorry. i coudln't help it}. 

it was lovely. after a really busy week last week, this week is much more relaxed, so i can enjoy this beautiful weather. 

yesterday i wore my new houndstooth skirt that i bought at goodwill for $5.

and it has pockets!!

i was wearing a white turtleneck sweater with it, and at one point someone asked me why i was so dressed up and one of my friends replied, "she's always dressed up." it made me smile.

yesterday i walked down to the stream behind our house. the water level was pretty high, and i got some lovely bokeh.

I like wearing them. They make my small-ish feet look even smaller. :)

I don't know why, but I have this thing for shoes. I like trying them on, buying them, wearing cool and funky shoes everywhere...they just add a little personality to any outfit.
