slapping sound

through the crowded halls full of loud voices, obnoxious people, and banging doors, i only hear one sound: a sort of clapping, slapping sound.

it continues as i walk down the hall. the sound follows me.

the sound of my flip-flops resonates in my ears as i go to my next class.

i decided to use an embroidery hoop as an interesting prop. it's really hard to get a camera to focus on something while using a self timer, in case you all hadn't tried it. :)

i took advantage of a brief lull in the rain to snap these photos. we've had rain for these past few days, but we really need it.

in case any of you did not know, i am trying to make at least one thing from pinterest every month this year as one of my 55 in 2012 goals. this was my project this month - a book cover.

i made this is my fashion and fabrics class at school {which is now, sadly, over}. i used fabric scrap from the class room. i was soooo excited to find enough of the houndstooth material to make the inside. *smiles*.

goal #23: get my hair cut.

this is how long my hair was before:

then, after losing about 10 inches, this is what it looks like:

i had been talking about getting my hair cut for a while, and then last wednesday on the way home from school, my mom offered for me to go and get it cut. i am going to donate my hair to locks of love. i'm really excited about my hair cut. it's so much easier to take care of. i'll probably miss my hair eventually, but for right now i don't miss it yet.
